Kevin Patrick is in his third season on the Falcon coaching staff after arriving in Bowling Green in June of 2002.

Prior to BGSU, Patrick served four seasons as an assistant hockey coach at Union College (Schenectady, N.Y.). Patrick spent his last three years as the Skating Dutchmen’s top assistant and recruiting coordinator. He worked under head coach Kevin Sneddon and oversaw the team’s special teams and defensemen.

Prior to Union, Patrick was an assistant coach/vice-president of operations for one year with the Green Bay Gamblers Junior A hockey team of the United States Hockey League (USHL). During the 1997-98 season, Patrick was responsible for recruiting and on-ice instruction, as well as managing the day-to-day business operations of the organization. The Gamblers qualified for the Clark Cup playoffs that season.

Patrick began his coaching career in 1993 as an assistant coach at Deerfield Academy (Deerfield, Mass.). That summer, Patrick served as head coach of Team West at the Bay State Games. During his four years at Deerfield, the Big Green went to the New England championships three times and posted a winning percentage of .731. While at Deerfield, Kevin was a science instructor and served as the assistant athletic director. Patrick also coached lacrosse and football during his tenure.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Patrick played one year of professional hockey during the 1992-93 campaign with the New Haven Senators (AHL), the St. Thomas Wildcats (CoHL) and the Green Bay Ice (AHA). In 30 games for the Ice, he registered four goals and 18 assists and was a member of the 1993 American Hockey Association All-Star Team.

Patrick graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in pre-professional studies (pre-med). He received his master’s degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts in 1998. Patrick was a defenseman with the Fighting Irish from 1988-92 and served as the team’s captain during both his junior and senior seasons. He was also a member of the Notre Dame lacrosse team that competed in the 1990 NCAA Tournament.

Most recently, Patrick was named assistant coach for the Atlantic District at the 2002 USA Select 16 Festival.

Patrick and his wife, Julie, reside in Bowling Green and have a two-year-old boy, James.
