Mark Hardaway enters his second year with BGSU since rejoining the team last fall. Hardaway also served as Van De Walle's assistant back in 1991 and 1992.

With coach Van De Walle in Greece, coaching the National Sitting Team, Hardaway led the Falcons to an 8-2 record during the month, including a 4-0 sweep at the West Virginia Invitational and a 2-0 start in the Mid-American Conference with wins over Toledo and Northern Illinois.

Hardaway returned to Bowling Green after serving as the head coach at Evansville from 1995-2002. During his tenure with the Purple Aces Hardaway earned 11 all-conference, five all-newcomer and 20 academic all-conference selections, as well as had two players drafted by the US Professional Volleyball League.

From 1993-1995 Hardaway was the head women's volleyball coach at Western Kentucky University, where he led the Hilltoppers to back-to-back 20-win seasons and had a .625 winning percentage.

In 1991-92, he teamed with head coach Denise Van De Walle to lead the Falcons to a 1991 MAC Tournament crown, as well as BGSU's first NCAA tournament appearance. In his two seasons at Bowling Green he helped the Falcons to a 59-13 overall and 32-2 MAC record.
